Factory-style switch, with delay added

This module replaces your factory wiper switch on your 67-72 C/K truck with one that looks and feels identical, but adds three intermittent delay settings to the existing two-speed operation. A microcontroller handles the timing and drives the original wiper motor through the original wiring.

The module's custom PCB runs off the truck's 12V supply, regulated down to 5V for an 8-bit microcontroller that handles the timing logic. Reverse-polarity and transient protection sit ahead of the regulator, so a backwards jump-start or a load dump doesn't reach the rest of the board.

The three intermittent delay settings sit between Off and the stock Low and High detents in the sweep. Three 60V/50A N-channel MOSFETs handle the output to the wiper motor. The switch connector mates directly with the factory harness using Packard 56-series terminals.

Installation

The job takes about an hour and uses basic hand tools. It requires crimping leads to the supplied pigtail, connecting to a switched 12V source and ground, and installing the new module in the factory location.

The dash cluster doesn't strictly need to come out, but pulling it makes the work easier and gives a clear view of the harness to verify the wiper motor is wired correctly.

FAQs

Can I use my stock dash knob?

Yes! The kit comes with a spacer that adapts our switch to the stock style knob and bezel.

How much wiring is involved?

The switch side plugs into the factory harness with no modifications. The only "wiring" you'll have to do is crimping the supplied leads to the pigtail, and connecting them to a switched 12v source and chassis ground. The install guide shows a convenient terminal to tap at the fuse box.

What if I want to go back to stock?

Just unplug the module and disconnect the pigtail. Swap back in a stock switch and you're good to go.

Will this work with an aftermarket wiper motor?

This switch is designed to work with the original GM style wiper motor which uses a 12v constant, switched ground system. If you're using a 3- or 4-terminal GM wiper motor made for another vehicle of this era, you're fine.

If you've replaced your motor with an aftermarket, more modern style of motor, this module will not work. Most modern motors are the typical constant ground with 12v supplied selectively. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.

How do I reset the module?

There's a reset button inside the module, accessible through the back of the housing. Push a pencil or other nonconductive tool through the hole, press and hold for 3-5 seconds, then release. The LED will blink rapidly to confirm the reset.

What's the warranty?

Two years from date of purchase. For issues after that, please reach out. We can usually fix it for the cost of shipping.
